A fresh batch of leaked marketing renders has provided the clearest look yet at the Acer Googlebook 14, one of the first premium laptops developed for Google’s new computing platform. Identified by the model number GP714-91N, Acer’s machine appears alongside upcoming Googlebooks from ASUS and Lenovo, shortly before pre-orders reportedly open on September 21.
The images reveal a slim, dark titanium chassis with a 360-degree hinge, allowing the device to switch between laptop, tablet, tent, and presentation modes. Its design appears closely related to Acer’s Chromebook Plus Spin 714, but the fully convertible format could make it stand out from the conventional clamshell models included in the initial Googlebook lineup. It should also complement Android applications built around touch controls and stylus input.
One of the most distinctive details is Google’s multicolored Glowbar, a visual signature shared by the leaked Acer, ASUS, and Lenovo models. The feature recalls the rainbow-colored light strip of the 2013 Chromebook Pixel, although manufacturers appear free to choose how it is integrated. Acer has positioned the Glowbar slightly off-center near a corner of the lid, while Lenovo’s version places it more conventionally in the middle.
Previous retailer leaks suggest that the Acer Googlebook 14 will combine a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 16 GB of RAM and an Intel Panther Lake processor. Configurations could include the Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 355. The renders also expose two USB-C ports on the left side, while a full-sized HDMI connector is reportedly part of the wider port selection.
Googlebook pre-orders are expected to begin on September 21, ahead of Google’s “Opening Night” event in New York on October 5. ASUS and Lenovo are also preparing premium models, but equivalent devices from HP and Dell have yet to appear in the leaks. With its OLED panel and flexible hinge, Acer’s model currently looks like the most versatile member of the first Googlebook wave.
