Huawei’s next tri-fold phone could look noticeably different from its predecessors. A new Mate XT 2 render shows a redesigned horizontal camera bar that looks a lot like the one on the Pura X View, along with slimmer and longer panels.
The biggest change is around the back. The render shows three cameras arranged horizontally, with two LED flashes sitting between them. More unusually, the entire camera module appears to be mounted on the middle section of the tri-fold, rather than one of the outer panels. The device also looks slimmer and more elongated than previous Mate XT models, while the front retains a punch-hole selfie camera and the rear carries HUAWEI | ULTIMATE DESIGN branding.
There’s still reason to be skeptical. Earlier leaks have suggested octagonal and square camera modules, so this render may not represent the final hardware. Huawei has yet to officially reveal the Mate XT 2’s design, though it has confirmed the upcoming tri-fold will run HarmonyOS 7. With the launch only days away, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to see whether Huawei really is borrowing the Pura X View’s design language for its most ambitious foldable.
