Logitech appears to be preparing a Special Edition of its MX Master 4 productivity mouse, but the upgrade looks largely cosmetic. Marketing images obtained by WinFuture’s Roland Quandt show a pale gray body with red graphics, darker side grips and prominent “Special Edition” branding. The ergonomic shape remains familiar, and the report points to unchanged dimensions and weight. If you were waiting for a substantial hardware revision, this probably isn’t it.
The most noticeable changes are on the main buttons. The left button carries a patterned graphic with red detailing, while the right gets the Special Edition label. A red-orange button behind the scroll wheel and a red-to-pink graphic beneath the thumb area complete the makeover. It gives the otherwise restrained office mouse a more playful appearance without changing the placement of its controls. The darker grips also create a stronger contrast with the light upper shell.

The underlying specifications are expected to carry over: an 8,000-DPI sensor, eight buttons, gesture controls, a MagSpeed scroll wheel and a separate horizontal wheel. Haptic feedback through the thumb rest also remains part of the package. The reported 650mAh battery retains the standard model’s claimed maximum of 70 days between charges. That makes this edition more relevant to first-time buyers who prefer the finish than existing MX Master 4 owners looking for new functionality. Battery life remains a manufacturer claim rather than an independently verified result for this edition.

Pricing and a release date haven’t been announced. For context, the regular MX Master 4 has an official European price of roughly €130, with some retailers selling it for around €100. Whether the new finish carries a premium remains unknown. WinFuture also raises the possibility of anniversary branding or easier battery replacement, but offers no evidence confirming either. For now, the images support a visual refresh; any changes beneath the shell will need to wait for Logitech’s announcement.
