Samsung Galaxy A18 4G has leaked in a new set of renders, and there’s no mistaking it for anything other than a budget Galaxy. The phone sticks closely to Samsung’s familiar A-series formula, mixing a few relatively modern touches with a front design that looks increasingly dated.
The biggest offender is the Infinity-U waterdrop notch. While punch-hole cameras have become common even on inexpensive Android phones, Samsung is keeping the teardrop cutout, along with fairly thick bezels and a particularly chunky chin. The flat frame and softly rounded corners are more contemporary, while Samsung’s raised Key Island around the power and volume buttons makes another appearance.
Around the back, things look cleaner. Three cameras sit inside a narrow, pill-shaped black module, rather than using the separate floating rings seen on many recent Galaxy devices. The flash sits outside the camera island, while the mostly flat rear panel and subtle camera bump keep things relatively tidy.
The renders show Light Blue, Silver and Black finishes. Light Blue is easily the most distinctive, extending its pale finish across the frame and camera surround, while Black does the best job of hiding the camera module. Overall, the Galaxy A18 4G isn’t ugly — it’s just extremely conservative. From behind it could pass for a newer Samsung, but that waterdrop notch immediately gives away its budget ambitions.
