The next-generation Hyundai Tucson has been spotted undisguised in the real world, giving us a better look at the SUV after its official design reveal. The fifth-generation model represents a major departure from the current Tucson, trading complex surfaces and its jewel-like grille for a cleaner, considerably boxier appearance.
The front now combines a slim horizontal light bar with vertical daytime running lights at the outer edges, while the chunkier bodywork follows the rugged direction established by the latest Santa Fe. There are hints of Kia’s recent design language here too, particularly around the front. At the rear, Hyundai replaces the current Tucson’s distinctive fang-like lights with a cleaner full-width light bar, reinforcing the SUV’s more minimalist approach.
The cabin is getting a similar makeover. Hyundai is replacing the current Panoramic Curved Display with a floating infotainment screen running its new Pleos Connect system. Powertrain details and pricing remain unknown, but the redesigned Tucson is expected to reach the US in 2027. Based on this first real-world appearance, Hyundai’s compact SUV is clearly moving away from visual complexity in favor of a tougher, more conventional SUV silhouette.
