Samsung appears to be getting serious about open-ear audio. New images discovered inside the company’s software offer another look at the so-called Galaxy Buds Able, a pair of clip-on earbuds that could eventually launch as the Galaxy Buds On and expand Samsung’s audio lineup beyond traditional in-ear models.
The latest assets show the left and right earbuds separately, as a pair and in different connection states, with filenames repeatedly referencing the internal “Able” name. More importantly, they reinforce the unusual design we’ve seen in previous leaks.
Instead of sitting inside the ear canal like the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro, each earbud consists of two rounded sections connected by a curved bridge that wraps around the outside of the ear. It’s a form factor similar in concept to other recent clip-on earbuds, keeping the ear canal open while using the bridge to hold the speaker in position. Previous Samsung software leaks have also revealed what appears to be a dedicated charging case.
The Galaxy Buds Able name first surfaced several months ago, although another report suggests Samsung could market the finished product as Galaxy Buds On. There are still no confirmed specifications, battery figures, pricing or launch date, so plenty about the product remains unknown. Samsung is reportedly exploring other audio form factors as well, including sports-focused earbuds with ear hooks and its first over-ear headphones.
If the latest assets are legit, the clip-on model appears to be moving closer to becoming a real addition to the Galaxy Buds family.
