Samsung may be preparing more than a simple yearly refresh for the Galaxy S27 family. A new batch of CAD-based renders suggests a redesigned camera system, subtle changes to the bottom frame and, more intriguingly, a Galaxy S27 Pro that could borrow some of the Ultra model’s visual identity.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 series is beginning to take shape well ahead of its expected 2027 debut, and this time the design leaks are getting interesting. New fan-made CAD renders based on leaked information show several changes across the lineup, which is rumored to include Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The biggest visual change should come at the back. While Samsung has spent the past few generations favoring individual camera rings, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to adopt a much larger camera housing that groups the sensors into a more prominent rectangular section. According to tipster UniverseIce, however, the phone’s overall dimensions should remain very close to those of the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
For reference, the S26 Ultra measures 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9 mm and features a 6.9-inch display. Samsung also appears unwilling to mess with some familiar Ultra ingredients. The S Pen slot remains on the bottom edge, while the speaker is reportedly still positioned toward the bottom-left, a configuration Samsung has used on its Ultra flagships since the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
Things become more unusual when looking at the rest of the S27 family. The Galaxy S27, S27+ and S27 Pro are said to relocate the bottom speaker toward the right side of the frame. It is a tiny change on paper, but one that could help distinguish the new generation when viewed from the bottom.
More intriguing is the alleged Galaxy S27 Pro. One of the CAD renders shows a wide camera housing that resembles the treatment expected on the Ultra, although it isn’t quite as large. Instead of simply looking like an S27+ with a different name, the Pro could therefore receive its own visual identity.
If accurate, Samsung may be positioning the S27 Pro as something closer to a compact Ultra, somewhat comparable to Apple’s approach of offering Pro and Pro Max versions with a shared design language. That would make the rumored fourth Galaxy S model considerably more interesting than previous leaks suggested.
There is a major caveat, though. These are unofficial renders, and the unusual S27 Pro camera housing could simply be the result of inaccurate CAD information. Even if the design proves correct, a larger camera island doesn’t necessarily mean Ultra-level sensors are hiding underneath it.
Still, the early leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 generation could bring one of Samsung’s more noticeable design shake-ups in recent years, particularly if the company really expands the family with a Pro model positioned between the conventional Galaxy S and the Ultra.
